A day like no other

So, has everyone guessed what I was talking about yesterday?

It’s the best and worst day of fostering for a foster parent and a time of transition.

Specifically, it’s the day a foster dog finds it’s forever home.

Guess who was adopted yesterday?

That’s right, 11 months and 2 days after Edwin was sprung from the shelter (not that anyone’s counting), 10 months and 2 days after he became adoptable, and 6 months to the day since Rusty’s adoption (after 9 1/2 months in foster), it finally happened!

Edwin officially has a new home.

Happy life, Eddie fo Freddie!

It just goes to show that despite all my worries once a foster dog passes that 8 month mark with little serious interest, their person will come along.  Sometimes, we just have to wait for that person who is compatible with the dog and not phased by its quirks to be ready to adopt.

Check back tomorrow to see Edwin’s journey with us in pictures!

  1. Very exciting! I can’t wait to hear more about his forever home.

  2. Awesome news! I thought you were going to say that you adopted him:D

LOVE it – my Clementine, who was at Silverwalk for 2 years sprung at staff insistence from our local, very rescue friendly Humane Society, finally found her home after being in a wonderful foster home and graduating from our dog training prison program. Such a joyous time.
